I Have A Lemon-Body

That's becoz my whole body is freaking 酸 now... after sat's beach vball. Ok, quite a few improvements - we got there before sunset at 2+pm but the setting up of the court took nearly an hour or so... it's only last sat that I found out nowadays needa set up your own court (at Tanjong Beach. Are there still readily available courts at Siloso Beach? A little less rusty than last week, but towards the end I kindda zoned out. No idea why. Happy with the final 2 serves. =p Hope this will be a continuously-regular weekend outing... Join me Join me!!!

Was so lethargic this morning... if not for the tonnes of work to do, I would have taken mc today. Not enuff rest. Sat after vball, went for this yummy zi char @ Henderson road.. quite cheap too. Then went for my fave scones @ Bt Timah and my baby bf came to meet us heh heh. Soooo cute!

Sunday, went for my sis' bday dinner @ Defu Lane... told ya it's become our standard celebrations' venue. Had the usual stuff - creamy AND chilli crabs, seafood fried rice, herbal prawns, etc. OH! I had my booze fix on Friday with xin n yx. Enjoyed the short and nice meetup. As usual lah, silly quotes like my beer '着凉' when it's supposed to be '发热', etc haha. Nvm, only we understand.

Time to get back to work after this short update. Chairing a briefing in a while, hope I dun get stupid questions or worse still, doze off halfway.

谁在想我....

Kept sneezing non-stop since this morning **Ahh Chewww!!**

Had a field of a day @ work yesterday... felt like an Octopus, though it's still not enough. Badly need to de-stress! No one could accompany me last nite, satisfied myself with a bottle of hoegaarden at home.

Finally it's Friday.. gosh, what a week. Can foresee it's gonna be like that for the next few weeks, maybe even the whole of next month *shudders*. Hope this weekend will be a relaxing one... at least I have a guaranteed yummy milky crab dinner on Sunday. Slurpz!

Have a great weekend!

P.s. Saw this sign on our lift:

This lift is under maintenance.
电梯在保养中
Haha. =)

Weekend Updates...

Last Friday was our seminar @ Raffles Convention Centre. Reached there at 8am then started to help with packing and stuff... then yours truly 'scolded' 2 managers off - 1 infamously ZBL one came by looking, and went "Tsk tsk. now then start to pack", and the other one stood right at the door with a cup of coffee and used his eye power to help. Dun wana help, please get out of our sight, otherwise, I won't give a fuck what post you hold. Too bad for them I was standing at the door lah ha. Turnout was quite good, 300+ pax in all, and I thought the seminar was quite well-received. 1st time I could be so relaxed throughout a big-scale event like this, coz it wasn't my baby. Mine is due on 7 Nov. Seminar ended with a huge buffet spread and we were released at 2+pm and my weekend began!

Shopped around a bit while deciding where to go.. wanted to look for dresses @ Topshop (coz my wedding-attending season is back... Sept - Dec I have at least 8) then unexpectedly found not 1 but 2 @ River Island.. punctured the hole in my pocket lagi bigger but since it's a rare chance to find dresses i like so.... no more shopping for following weeks/months... try.

Sat, went to Sentosa with No.10 and frens at 4+pm. 4+! I was like walau, go Sunset Bay doesn't mean have to go at sunset right... 想当年 9+ am or so we were there liao... played a bit of beach volleyball with some strangers... gosh damn rusty but I missed it so much! Wish you guys were there too... Enjoyed the short stint but scratched my left lower thigh when I dived for the ball... now it's a HUGE patch of red bloody spots. Might be going again this sat... anyone wana join us??? After that went for the yummy zi char @ Alexandra hawker centre then Bojangles to watch soccer. Chelsea lost. so sad. XD

Sun, went to watch Singapore Slingers vs Phillippines Patriots @ Indoor Stadium.. not too bad, crowd was quite wild but I guess mainly coz of the Fillippinos around... Slingers won in the end, 74 to 69 points. Quite an eye opener. Then to Bt Timah Plaza for dinner and Old Town for kopi after that.... Reached home in time to watch a bit of Brazilian GP.

Then didn't sleep well. Why? Coz drank too much water, kept going to the loo and also I kept thinking about the stupid things that my bossES want me to do.. maybe I am stressed @ work after all? Duno is that why I've been losing weight to the extent that I no longer feel happy when people comment that I've slimmed down. I was even told I look sick. This morning, thrown into the toilet bowl to drown in a pool of shit again. And you still wana dump stupid tasks for me to handle when it is not my job? Where I wana see my name, DUN HAVE (even when there is, loads of ppl jumped in to claim it). Where I DUN WANA see my name, it's EVERYWHERE. December come quick please...

Here's to the long week ahead. Looking forward to weekend already when the week's barely begun. Haiz.

Happy Friday!!

I'm unusually chirpy this morning unlike my usual dead self, coz I'm on half day leave this afternoon, and more importantly, I'll be off for a secret mission! See lah, my own blog also cannot openly say what I'm gonna do later... tsk tsk. Whatever. I've been looking forward to it the whole week! And then later gonna visit Dylan.. Now that he can walk, maybe I will chase him and he can start to learn how to run hee...

Met up with Stan last nite and had dinner with her @ Crystal Jade La Mian.. and proved to her that its xiao long baos are the best among the other few restaurants... too lazy to walk around since there weren't much to see anyway, we went to TCC to chat a bit... and we were occassionally interrupted by the rude burps from the coffee machine beside us...

Then went to meet Xin at her building at 10pm before proceeding to 85 Market for ba chor mee.. But the whole hawker centre was closed for washing.. I daren't say this last nite, but I'd actually known it was closed but I forgot about it haha! But I wasn't the one who suggested going hor! In the end detoured to the hawker centre near my place for the ba chor mee subsitute... which was when I realised the satays there were quite good! 3 siao za bors yakked and laughed like nobody's biz... short but fun supper. Best joke of the nite that totally flipped me out? "Auntie said she was listening to songs from Olive Oil." Now I know where Xin got her 'Majority Report' and 'T-Rex' and 'Nottingham' and and and.... from. HAHA!!

Ain't in the mood to work now of course but who cares... Have a great weekend, all of you! Duno watsup for mine yet... And for the super rare 1st time... I wish Monday can come very very very soon. ;p

It was a 快乐中秋.

Gathered at my Auntie's place on 中秋节 (3 Oct), a yearly tradition of my family.

While waiting for the cousin-in-chief aka the OLDest one to arrive, I played home-made monopoly with the kids. Take a look at this precious board game that we are so proud of:
Every little detail, word, colour, etc. was done by my beloved uncle. One of the few tangible memories that we have left. The most expensive place, instead of Queen Astrid Park, is Pasir Ris. I quote Ah Le's blog, "... the most expensive land, is Pasir Ris. That's where they live now, their home, and where I used to live when I was a kid. I smiled when I saw that."

Me too. =)

Anyhows, our yearly practice is to go to the park with the kids and play with lanterns. The adults play with fire, literally. It's the official day to do so isn't it? Ha... This year however, coz of the rain, we the 'adults' chose to stay in and play mahjong while the next generation played at the void deck instead. 长江后浪推前浪... 前浪死在麻将桌上. Ah Le joined us on the table this year... got beginners' luck, ie. win at the beginning and that's IT. HAHA... This year, Ah Yi and 华舅 did not join us, but 泉舅 was there instead.. it's been a long time since we saw him and he was really funny that nite... quite different from his usual grouchy self which most of us were afraid of when we were young...

Overall it was a great nite... Home-cooked food, Ma's yummy ABC soup, my delicious choc-n-baileys and choc-n-rum-n-raisin mooncakes from Fairmont, lots of laughter... Hope you've had a great one too!

2009 F1 Singapore Grand Prix

After months of waiting, my F1 weekend zoomed past just like that. Literally.

Took half day on Friday to catch the practice sessions which started at 3pm. My seat was at the Marina Bay Grandstand but we could walk around most of the area, except the super atas zone. Pros and Cons; Could watch the cars more upclose when walking around but only bummer was no screen to watch. Could watch the screen from our seat but not so much of the live action. Unless you take the loud shrills as 'live action' into account. It was really really ear-piercing. Thought I could tahan it initially, but after a while cannot take it and purchased the survival kit which consisted of a poncho n a pair of ear plugs. $2 for charity, why not. But the ear plugs really sucks. In the end we bought another pair from the convenience store at $3. 一分钱一分货.

Practice session was nothing much. The most exciting part was probably the part where a Renault car crashed into the wall right infront of our grandstand. The crowd actually cheered! Gosh... haha! Then everyone swarmed to take pics of the dejected looking Romain Grosjean and his wreck. The same spot as fellow racer - Nelson Piquet's infamous crash. How freaky is that!

Qualifying day was quite alright. We skipped the Aston Martins and Porsche sessions coz they were nothing much, more interested in the race at night. Kindda exciting but nothing beats the actual race night. The crowd, atmosphere and weather were at their best. Past 2 nites were quite hazy and damn humid, but it was quite clear and windy on the race night. Spectators were spontaneous and high-spirited (and some too high from their Tigers), esp the ang mohs, which by the way made up at least 50% of the crowd I think. And for the first time, I was super glad that our weather agency had made superbly WRONG predictions, that there will be thunderstorms throughout all 3 nites. Contrary to what I'd thought earlier, I actually do not have much of a chance to: - watch the cars zoom past. watch the screen and wait. watch them zoom past again. And wait again. etc., coz they were really fast! Not much of time gaps at all. It was a close fight for the last few cars while there was no competition for Hamilton all the way.

Left a few rounds before the race ended, as the winners were more or less confirmed. But more importantly, I wanted to catch Backstreet Boys at the Padang! I liked them a lot during sec sch time and I tell you... I was like a complete sec sch fan screaming, singing and dancing away amongst the huge crowd. Everyone was so high! And it was really great to listen to their songs again, much less listen to them live.

Overall, it was a great experience and our country's night scene really looks beautiful. If I were to watch again next year, I'll probably just go for the Race night... coz "Nothing else comes close".

Babblings before the long weekend

I find myself whining a lot recently about work, to the extent that I'm very irritated by myself. That's serious. Have to really decide what I want.

Go catch The Ugly Truth. Other than Gerard Butler being a total crude yet sexy dish, the female lead Katherine Heigl portrayed a natural and funny 败犬 as well. Finally there's a show demonstrating the hush-puppiness of men instead of the so-you-think-you-are-so-smart-and-great-in-hooking-up-women antics that are so ohhhh sooooo...... yawn-inducing. Full of laughs and no boringness, highly recommended. ;p

It's not your sole battle. I will fight it with you.

F1 next week! A bit of the know-yet-duno what to expect feeling. Hope it will be fun! Last nite we passed by that stretch of very-brightly-lit road along the esplanade, wah, seems like some cars think they are rehearsing for the race, at the rate they are zooming.

Last nite @ Popeyes' was fun! Esp the video recording part. Hope what our scenes will not be cut heh heh.. esp those of our hyper mama.

Last but not least... hope my long weekend will start well, from Tonite.

Enjoy your long weekend!

2 Years Ago, Today.

Popped out of nowhere in the most unexpected fashion.

What a pop.

Let it bloom. Make it bloom. Timeless.

=)
