Had tea at Gloria Jean's after lunch today... After you placed your order, they will ask for your name and later call for you when your drink is ready. Yours Truly's name was spelt like this:

SYNDEY
Interesting and amusing... Made my name sound so much more sophisticated yet complicated. Heard of Sindy, Cyndi, Sindee, etc but this is a first haha... (FYI, I really hate my ang moh name and very much prefer people to address me by my chinese name... But, oh well.)

Toilet Maid

Scrubbed my dad's toilet like crazy last nite... If my toilet is the airport or hotel's toilet, his would be that of a kopitiam. So, I tried my darndest to elevate its cleanliness status to at the very least, that of a shopping centre or my office toilet hee... Ignore the clutter yah, coz I also don't know what could be thrown. Went shopping for my tools first... The photos do not do justice to the 'Before' toilet... coz it's way much dirtier and grimer! And photo of the 'Before' toilet bowl was purposely not taken to prevent loss of appetite. Just imagine the inside is as dirty as the outside of the 马桶.
Before and After:

Scrubbing is a tiring workout! Appreciate the clean toilets that your mums maintain at home! Haha =p

"今天有回来吃吗?"

"这样晚了还不睡?"

"厨房有凉茶, 去喝."

"今天不懂要煮什么."

"去拿 piriton 吃."

"起来了, 去吃了再回来睡."

"不会帮忙一下啊?(!)"

Coming home with more than 2 sets of eyes in front of the tv.

Not the silence.

The Squabblings. Scoldings. Chatting. Laughter. Tears even.

All other 人与事 which makes It Complete.

下雨了. 荷尔蒙在作祟吧. 哈.

1st Post of 2008!!

Shall begin with a meaningful and worthy cause. Last Sunday, me n some volunteers from my company trooped to Jln Bt Merah to do house-cleaning for some old folks. Did you know there are some blocks catered just for the elderly? Well, knowing is one thing, but to be there to see for yourself is really another matter...

These units are so tiny and cramped, with 1 living room that serves as a bedroom as well, and a corner as a kitchen with a tiny toilet. The most heart-wrenching part comes when you see this elderly folks... some are ill, some have to take care of their bed-ridden partners, some are abandoned by their kids, etc... But there are some who are old but still v strong ones of coz... Thank goodness there are home services who take care of these folks. We were told that many donations and contributions of basic necessities and food keep pouring in for them.

Anywayz we were assigned to the unit of this 92 year-old 阿婆 who looks like she's just 80. Friendly with a very positive attitude. Her house and furniture were quite dirty and old though. Was wiping her brown wardrobe and wondered if it was white initially (-_-") and she has a cupboard which is 80 years old! Changed her lightings, wiped everywhere, washed the toilet, swept, mopped, etc... Ain't easy, but it sure was fulfilling and a great sense of 满足感 at the end of the day... Not 阿婆's cleaner house for her to live in, but her happy and smiling face. =) The other team went to a 99 year old Uncle's place to clean. That Uncle is alone and taking care of himself despite his age, but he couldn't control his bowels so have to wear pampers... The stench in his house was just so you-wouldn't-want-to-know....

Other stuff now! Had a nice new year chalet @ Aloha Loyang with my vball mates, a yearly affair for us for abt 3 or 4 years now? The place was quite spacious, with 2 bedrooms, 1 living room and 1 kitchen. 1st nite was pot-luck then 2nd nite BBQ and countdown...

Went to Jacky Cheung's concert on 5Jan.. basically its a encore session from last year, so 90% of it was the same. Preferred last year's performance though... nvm, coz its FREE! Hee...
