It was a 快乐中秋.

Gathered at my Auntie's place on 中秋节 (3 Oct), a yearly tradition of my family.

While waiting for the cousin-in-chief aka the OLDest one to arrive, I played home-made monopoly with the kids. Take a look at this precious board game that we are so proud of:
Every little detail, word, colour, etc. was done by my beloved uncle. One of the few tangible memories that we have left. The most expensive place, instead of Queen Astrid Park, is Pasir Ris. I quote Ah Le's blog, "... the most expensive land, is Pasir Ris. That's where they live now, their home, and where I used to live when I was a kid. I smiled when I saw that."

Me too. =)

Anyhows, our yearly practice is to go to the park with the kids and play with lanterns. The adults play with fire, literally. It's the official day to do so isn't it? Ha... This year however, coz of the rain, we the 'adults' chose to stay in and play mahjong while the next generation played at the void deck instead. 长江后浪推前浪... 前浪死在麻将桌上. Ah Le joined us on the table this year... got beginners' luck, ie. win at the beginning and that's IT. HAHA... This year, Ah Yi and 华舅 did not join us, but 泉舅 was there instead.. it's been a long time since we saw him and he was really funny that nite... quite different from his usual grouchy self which most of us were afraid of when we were young...

Overall it was a great nite... Home-cooked food, Ma's yummy ABC soup, my delicious choc-n-baileys and choc-n-rum-n-raisin mooncakes from Fairmont, lots of laughter... Hope you've had a great one too!
