AM in a bad mood recently. Call it PMS or wat, but I find myself snapping at the slightest thing. The ultimatum was I scolded a vendor over the phone. Not really his fault though, it's his designer who was so damn rude - ranting away at the back when even a blind person can tell the font type used was so damn wrong and different. Beginning to show less tolerance especially to rude and irritating vendors OR people...
忍-ing, 忍-ing and 忍-ing... one day when I've 忍-ed enuff...

Go for what you wanna achieve./?
There are in fact quite a number of things that I want/will like to do and yet have not..due to environmental factors, $, time, laziness, procrastination and so on. I bet none of my frens actually know that besides the fact that I like to dance while clubbing, I wished I was in a dance team sometimes. Tek's eyes should be going boiing boiing if she hears this haha... Ming once said to me during Da's school production, "You should be dancing up there." Yeah I wish I am too heh..feeling is stronger everytime I watch performances...perhaps if I'd gone for dance instead of vball in jc? Hmm..
Speaking of vball, almost had a chance to participate as a player instead of a spectator in the annual Pesta Sukan Vball 'Open' competition.. was in the now-long-defunct Si-Mi-Lai-Eh team. Was so excited then..even roped in Xin n Qiao. Had regular training sessions too. In the end, we were disbanded as some of the team members weren't able/ didn't want to commit..was quite upset actually..
Moral of all these? Get movin' and embrace nike 精神 ("Juz do it") for anything that you wish to achieve, else 遗憾 might juz creep up and even stay for good. Even if it doesn't turn out well... Well, i hate to say this, but "at least you've tried" or "you'll never know if you never try". Kindda loser statement haha!
Next up, really have to get going for my long long loooong procrastinated driving license. Yes, Yours Truly have too many nice driver-friends around, so till now still have not gone for lessons yet coz there's no need to... Yeah rite... haha... =p

Show Mi Sammi Concert ~ 18 May 07
Watched Show Mi Sammi Concert on 18 May @ Hong Kong Coliseum. The show was a blast! It was a 四面台 setting and there was not one single seat empty. It was my highly and eagerly anticipated concert, having gone all the way to HK for it. After all the rumours and news of her being sick too..
In the end, Sammi proved all of them wrong with her great performance. Diva-licious with her singing and moves, i've never seen Sammi danced and grooved like that! No need all the body-contorting yoga stunts to be a dancing diva (pun intended) you know? She looked very healthy and toned...had many 造型s and the mobile stage settings were pretty impressive too... very interactive with the audience too... at one point she invited her fans up on stage to sing with her...an expecting mother who's Singaporean (!), a real fat guy whom Sammi kept teasing (the guy brought his camera along and Sammi gamely snapped pictures with him on the stage) and a cute little boy. The concert was 3+ hours and she sang many many songs... her encore session was the best and most 'real' one so far... she came out and sang with the concert hall's lights fully on! She was humming the music rather than singing the lyrics coz she said she couldn't remember them though haha..

Really hope she'll come to SG for a concert soon! Sammi Forever!!!!

Hong Kong 16 - 19 May 07
买东西吃东西, 买东西吃东西 fan lei le! Really shopped till we dropped. We had a tight schedule but still managed to visit and comb many many places - Started with Central (where we bunked over YX's place @ mid-SoHo with the super long escalator), then Mongkok, Yau Ma Tei, Ladies St, Temple St, Tung Chung, Tsim Sha Tsui, Causeway bay, Wan Chai... Everyday we are shopping, shopping and shopping; Walking, walking and walking. Never climbed so many steps and slopes in my life! Seems like we ran quite a bit too.. Sprinted to C17 @ T1 when Xin saw in horror that it flashed 'Gate Closed' on the screen when its still 10mins away from boarding time (I tell you, this is no small feat as it was right at the end of the wing!) on the day we went..And then AGAIN on the day we left, when we ran all the way down to Gate 12 at the HK airport coz we remembered the wrong time haha! Think our calves are now toner...
It's amazing how everywhere can be linked by long long long underpasses and their MTR. Took the peak tram and then visited Madame Trussard. Pretty fascinating but not all the wax figures look like the real persons though..Andy Lau and a few others were also missing. Nonetheless, we took a lot of silly photos alongside these stars haha..
The view at Victoria Harbour was absolutely breathtaking... we were there to watch the famed 'A Symphony of Lights'. It wasn't that wow-inducing though... then we had a very 狼狈 and unforgettable dinner at this posh chinese restaurant.. we'd went in thinking that they still served dim sum.. in the end they weren't and we ordered and shared a stingy but expensive fried rice and roast goose drumstick coz we were 不干愿 to spend that kind of money haha..
Speaking of food, we tasted their wonton mee, the famous 臭豆腐 (other than smelling like 'long gao' water, it was juz like any other deep fried toufu to me), had tong shui @ 糖朝, had 公仔面, 鱼蛋, revived the mango-ness of 许留山, etc...oh we went to Hei Hei Club @ Lan Kwai Fong on the 1st nite... bartenders very cute heh... in fact I think HK guys are quite droolsome, especially those in suits...quite tall too. Place is not bad... crowd only started to come in after 12+am.. drinks were not bad too, as in more concentrated. The whole street wasn't that happening though..maybe coz it was Wednesday or we'd missed the crowd.
Bought quite a lot of stuff but i seemed to have spent more on souveniers on others than myself... Promised myself to buy more for myself instead on the future trips. Overall, it was a great trip... tiring but a wonderful experience. Am considering making it a yearly trip =p
Time to roll the credits! Big Hugs for...

Last but definitely the most important credit, THANK YOU my dearest Xin, for organising the whole trip, planning the whole itinerary so meticulously and for everything else. Big Big Hugs! =)
Forever Grasshopper 2007 ~ 19 may 07
Whizzed to meet Ming n B for the concert after reaching home for barely 2 hours... dead tired but it was super worth it! 草蜢 looked as good as ever.. esp Leng Zai Kit of coz heh..their singing and dancing was simply HOT HOT HOT! As usual, Singaporean crowds take a while to warm up.. after some edging, teasing and hushing of the security (coz they wouldn't let us stand up) AND hot dance music and moves of coz, no one was seated; even the aunties and uncles were up and grooving! It was like a huge indoor stadium party. They had humourous dialogues as well. E.g.:
Kit to Wai: Why are you hiding your 6-spec underneath you top? (Wai took his top off.)
Wai to Kit: You have them too mah, why are you hiding them too? (Kit took it off.)
Naturally when Chi stepped forward to do the same, the 2 of them stopped him immediately.
Kit: You no need, no need
Wai: 拜托, 拜托, 你不要脱
Hahaha!
Their slow numbers were v v nice and melting... belted out many of their older songs too... <<半點心>>, <<失戀陣線聯盟>>, <<暗戀的代價>>, <<寶貝,對不起>>, <<爱不怕>> and many many more... <<我们>> and <> were sang during the encore... there were 2 encores!! They just kept singing and singing... in the end the 2.5hrs concert became a 3+ hour one.. Those who left earlier, eat your hearts out! Haha..

Happy Advanced 粽子节!!
One of the perks of my job is being able to go to various restaurants in hotels or anywhere else to taste yummy food for FREE. Been to many so far, for their buffet, specialty dishes and so on. Besides these, I get to meet chefs from all around the world and go for mini-tours in the busy kitchens, hotel rooms, etc. Today, I went to another hotel (venue to be revealed later) to taste their jumbo ba zhang. Never eaten such a huge ba zhang with very 丰富 fillings... dried scallop, roast pork, roast duck, etc. The chef is very experienced and can wrap 1 jumbo ba zhang in a matter of seconds. Had other dishes as well... their famous egg tarts were very good and the pumpkin cream with vanilla ice-cream and glutinous rice was unique and delicious too.

"Happy Mother's Day" Ma
Took Ma to Seafood Paradise @ Defu Lane last nite to have pre-Mother's Day dinner. The restaurant has become my fave seafood paradise (literally) after Xin brought me and Qiao there sometime ago. Great and yummy seafood at cheap prices, simply heaven for a seafood lover like me haha. Been raving about it to my friends and colleagues too... power of word-of-mouth.

Ok, back to the dinner. Reservation could only be made at 830pm as all the tables were taken up. For the 1st time, I got my table within 5 minutes of arrival. Ordered their specialty butter crab with mantou, drunkened prawns and a few other dishes.

Total bill was $149 only. Was so full (almost couldn't breathe in my fit-to-the-T top) but very satisfied after the meal... glad my family likes it too. Always feel very happy when those around me likes what I recommended heh..
Ma has went through a lot for us... I've a lot to say, but I'm not gonna do it here. Friends around me should know anyway.
Happy Mother's Day Ma and I love ya. =)

Mesmerized by Music of The Night...Phantom Style
Watched The Phantom of the Opera @ The Esplanade on 22 April with Wei. We bought the circle seats and the view was quite good. The play's been in production since 9 October 1986..Have heard of this infamous play since sec school days but no $ to watch then.. thought no kaki to watch with too. 1st time watch play with my sister heh..
The setting itself was an art masterpiece and everything else was simply enchanting in a gloomy ambience...Gold-sculptured stage fittings, the big and majestic chandelier hanging above the audience (it 'crashed towards the audience and landed on the stage as part of the act.. wonder if those sitting underneath dio cua haha), detailed and fine-looking costumes, well-crafted props and of course, the powerful voices of the actors and actresses.. Christine's crystal clear soprano, Raoul's soothing and manly voice and the Phantom's deep and booming singing which seems full of angst and darkness. The classic scene of the Phantom rowing the boat with Christine in it to his secret hideout - The Labyrinth Underground while singing "The Phantom of the Opera", with all the mist and candles was absolutely magical..really wonder what are the mechanics underneath it? How did the boat 'glide' across the stage?... No doubt, my favourite scene IS the Phantom singing "Music of the Night". Totally 陶醉 in that scene...
The other aspect that I took note of was the orchestra, especially the percussion. The conductor conjuring and coordinating the music and mood of the show, the drums, cymbals, timpani, even the occasional triangle, the symphony goin crescendo and decrescendo, pianissimo to fortissimo (these are basically the musical terms I can remember haha)..Spellbound. Really makes me miss those days in GVSS symphonic band heh..
Too bad we weren't allowed to take pictures. Only managed to take 1 sneakily, during the break that is.

JPMorganChase Corporate Challenge 3 May 2007
Come to think of it, i did not really volunteer for the run haha.. Can only remember that some names were churned up during a meeting and I found myself in the team. 5.6km leh.. have never ran such a long distance in my life and haven't been running since a year ago. Trained or rather prepared 2 times then 硬着头皮, 跟它拼了.
Woah the turnout was huge even though it rained the whole afternoon. We trooped down to the Padang as a team of 12 in our spiffy black Adidas tee after our briefing at HQ.

We were kindda blanket-ed by other teams as most of them were in huge numbers - heard a certain team from a prestigious firm had actually 700+ runners.. that's like 3 times my COMPANY size can..
Long before the actual day we were all like aiya nevermind, we'll just go walk it out. In the end, once the 'GO!' was given, we couldn't even see each other anymore. Btw by the time I actually ran past the starting line, it was about 3 minutes already coz we were quite far back and gotta wait for the thousands infront to move b4 we can start our engines. Ran with the company of my mp3 player instead.. some runners were so damn fast, they were on the way back when I was just reaching the 1km mark. The running lane was super squeezy and some irritating people especially those with arms full of bushy wired hair would simply brush against you as their form of 'excuse me'. My shoe laces kept untying themselves too.
Once the adrenaline started pumping, I couldn't stop haha...In the end, I finished the whole course non-stop with 44.59minutes. Quite an achievement and I'm damn proud of myself! We gathered at the super muddy and squishy Padang again and our shoes AND shocks were simply soaked man... Yucks! Managed to catch Xin for a while then went off...
Overall, it was quite a great experience and I'll definitely join again if there's a chance! =p
