背影 Part 1

最近我对'背影'产生了一般莫名的兴趣.

背影它形形色色; 高的, 矮的, 胖的, 瘦的, 老的, 少的, 幼的, 等.

有趣的是, 每个背影都带着自己的故事与情感.

快乐, 失落, 温馨, 彷徨, 孤独, 喜悦, 疲惫, 幸福, 等待, 自由, 兴奋, 生气, 紧张, 等...

无论是单独的一个人, 一对恋人, 兄弟姐妹, 朋友, 甚至敌人, 成群结队的死党或对友, 等, 都是故事的主角; 带出背影的含意.

简单和也许平凡的视相, 背后却带着千言万语.

Auto-Roamers

This is not about your mobile accessibility, but the fucking bastards who still fool around when they are attached and worse still, married or have families.

WHY roam your hearts about when you already have someone who loves you whole-heartedly by your side? To keep your options open or the fave 'Just for fun'? Bullshit. With the abundance of social activities available, 'innocent' flirting in clubs, pubs, speed dating websites, etc., one thing might lead to the other - exchange hp, msn, chat, meet up, etc. While you think its all for the fun of it, next thing you know is you are falling for the other party who's 'fresh and interesting', be it just momentary or for real, the whole relationship gets messed/fucked up and worse still, creating a deep scar on your partner's life. WHY do such things and cause unnecessary misunderstanding, quarrels, fights and hurt? Is it fair to your partner, To your family? Is it still FUN?

I quote a friend, "With the temptations around nowadays, monogamy is scarce." Sad but true. The one whom you think gives you the greatest love in the world might well be the one who crushes you to hell the other moment. The big issue of trust and faith lingers. It could be diamond-solid but it could also be a blink-and-its-gone thingy. Maybe I'm an old-fashioner, I just cannot comprehend this kind of behaviour - I don't do it (flirting and stuff, be it online or wat) and I absolutely detest it. Plus You-Know-What (happened b4).

Well, there ARE successful relationships around. And I KNOW there are many causes and reasons behind broken ones. Never say never. Case-by-case basis. Some of my sentences don't even link or make sense. My Babbles.

Perhaps I should change my blog name to Min-Babbling Talks instead.

Our 2nd Valentine's Day

No.10 gave me a surprise (ehh sort of =p) and brought me to dinner at DOMVS, the italian Restaurant @ Sheraton Towers Singapore on Wednesday... Came across the restaurant when we attended a wedding earlier this year.

A small restaurant tucked at the side of the hotel, the ambience is warm and quiet; an ideal place to have a quiet and nice dinner, though its so quiet that certain times i was whispering instead of yakking. Probably due to the scale of the restaurant, the menu doesn't have much variety but does offer authentic Italian cuisine.

We ordered a Foie Gras for appetizer, main courses were Grilled beef with portobello mushrooms for No.10 and Roasted duck with grilled polenta (a traditional italian dish, kindda like a little mushy kueh made with corn meal) for myself, my fave Warm chocolate cake for dessert and a glass of wine which goes with our respective main courses each.

Verdict: The Rivioli was a complimentary starter. Its ingredients were quite fresh, but No.10 said basically its just a high-class 水饺. The Foie Gras was sooooo yummy! Great sauce and it simply melts in the mouth. Ding dong ding dong! No.10's beef was not bad, tender and juicy but i thought the sauce for my duck was better. My duck was done medium-well but a tad difficult to chew. As for the Warm chocolate cake, the serving is too small and I've had better ones elsewhere. The wines recommended were not bad too. Total bill was $180+. I thought it was quite ok, coz I estimated at least $200.

想太多...

This time i'm really mind-boggled. Big Time.

Suddenly so many things happened at one go, really made me think a lot a lot.

Why, How, When and What and What Now.

Will it happen to me and What If? Lessons learnt?

Am really angry and upset at how some dear people were treated and the hurt that had been slapped on them. Bewildered, Puzzled and somewhat Amused though Not Funny.

But maybe I really thought too much. Someone once told me "Close 1 eye and 1 ear, if not All, will make you a happier person and things will not look so complicated." Ain't that as good as being a Dummy? Or simply Ignorance is Bliss? Or just 'See how it goes'...

Am sorry if I have been too quiet, sometimes I just like to be lost in my thoughts but I'll pull myself back to reality. The last thing I want is for you to be worried about me too.

In Serious Need of THIS!

A nice resort with even nicer sand, sun and the sea.... I seriously need a break; A getaway from everything... to have my fave R&R.

Survival SGW - Week 1

Past few days were absolutely CRAWLERS!!!! Gosh, time really pass damn damn slowly here... More or less 'settled in' but I think i really need a long long time to adjust. V tiring, everyday gotta wake up early and travel to work. So far out of these 5 days, came to work from No.10's place 3 times and my own place twice. Thank god my colleague could give me a ride from my house but i'm really dreading the day i have to take mrt myself - sure kena, coz my colleague is a sales guy or will be on leave! I've not been so awfully punctual since like the 1st day of work haha..

My lunch menu/venue this week:

• Mon - Sun Plaza Foodcourt


• Tue - Had 'welcome breakfast party' so not hungry during lunch... went ard the factories and warehouses within this area to buy (cheaper) CNY goodies! Got many many brands, e.g. a couple of popular bak kwa brands, the indonesia river brand, and many others.


• Wed - Woodlands Shopping Mart (Blk 700+)


• Thu - Sun Plaza Foodcourt


• Fri - In-house canteen.. Found out the food is actually edible!

Just finished playing pool hee... the rest were watching dvd. Now no boss, i wana zao earlier! Am taking leave on wed, coz i found out with horror that almost my whole division will be on leave! I dun wana be alone at this 冷宫!!! I leave you with my seaview...

Farewell Somerset & Haizzz Senoko

Today's our official first day @ Senoko... came to work from No.10's place, so much much nearer than my own place... my whole journey including walking to mrt station, train ride and shuttle service took about 40 minutes. Haven't tried out how long it takes from my place yet... *Shudders* .. Our shuttle bus is very luxurious and comfy, even for the short 10 mins ride, machiam like those go Genting kind. My colleague jokingly asked if I rem to bring our passport for our trip... When i reached the gates, I was like 'Can someone slap me to tell me i'm really here?'... (-_-)"

Office environment wise, I must say the renovation was quite nicely done, a complete change from what it used to be. Quite warm and cosy...I have my own cube now! Different colours for each divisions; mine's orange. Very Telco. It's quite spacious and I have so much storage space now that I duno what to fill it up with haha! We have a recreation room too... got LCD Tv, dvd player, pool table and the soccer-table (duno wat u call it). The one at the other building (we have 2 buildings) is lagi big! The pantry there is like a mini cafe too... ours is quite small but not too bad too.

So here I am... need sometime to adjust to the transition period ba... just now went to SunPlaza for lunch. We have a canteen in our building but the food is pretty pathetic. Actually new office is ok, just that the travelling time and location si bei sian. Due to the new seating arrangement, we can no longer in front laugh to the back or from the back to the front liao.. And my sisters are in the other building! Also can't meet frens and run errands during lunch time anymore... After work oso no mood and strength to meet in town... Save money lor, now no more shopping after lunch and lunch is somewhat cheaper.. But like I told them... if we long long time never hit town and once we do it, we'll be like freed birds, 一发不可收拾 hee...

Office War Zone

If you haven't heard by now, Yours Truly is gonna be banished to exile very soon, like NEXT Friday... Am moving from posh and ups Somerset to SENOKO... Indescribable sorrow... HAIZ...

With everyone packing at the moment, the whole place looks like a war zone. The aisle beside my cube (mine is the 1st one) became machiam like an obstacle course if you wana walk to the back...

Think of the travelling, ulu and no-shopping-after-lunch days ahead... SI BEI SIAN... will let you see how my new cube looks like in days to come... Eating MacDelivery @ my cube amidst all the mess now. Ke lian...

继续吹娘惹风

Went for lunch with my biggest boss and my 2 姐妹s... He drove us to Keppel Club for peranakan food @ PeraMakan, which was featured on tv before for its desserts. Surprisingly the place was bustled with the lunch crowd even though the club is not accessible-friendly.. seems like everyone caught on the 娘惹风 after the show (not me though, I din watch).

Verdict: The food is quite nice.. wanted to say 'especially which dish' but I think again, all the dishes I tried are equally nice. For the Ayam Buah Keluak, the ayam (chicken) is nicely flavoured and tender but I don't like the buah keluak, which is like a hard nut and what you eat is the dug out 'mud' inside.. kindda disgusting and the taste is weird. As mentioned, this restaurant was featured on tv for its desserts like chendol (where the green jellies are freshly made), durian puree (made from top grade durians), nonya pancakes with warm banana sauce, etc. Prices are pretty reasonable too... though I don't have to pay... heh

Before leaving the restaurant, saw this lady who was just trying too hard I think... wore a nonya kebaya top with jeans.. trying to look fasionable but so NOT nice.
