Actually did nothing much lah, just wanted to make the title more seh, or rather I can't think of any thing heh... Spent my day at Mamzar Beach - have to pay 5 dirhams to enter. Not too bad, clean sand and sea but I very much prefer Jumeirah Beach.
Then went back to the apartment and prepared for the nite. Had Italian food for dinner.. its mushroom soup was nice! Had seafood spaghetti as usual... Yumms! Then we went to this chillout place at Jumeirah Hotel named 360 (deg)... Kindda special coz we were 'chaffeured' to the spot via a buggy. Cool place with nice house music... a little like Cafe Del Mar... V v cold though, coz it was by the sea but the night view was magnificent...From our table, it was Jumeirah Hotel on the left and Burj Al Arab on the right. Only bummer was we weren't allowed to bring my cake in, so we cut it back at home instead.
So that was it, my simple and nice little birthday celebration... Thank youuuu for all the birthday sms-es and wishes, sorry I couldn't reply to you yah...
Tomorrow or rather later's gonna be another bday celebration, for Shir. 4 more days to home....

DXB Day 9, 10 & 11
We went to Wild Wadi!!... Its entrance, that is haha... It cost 180 dirhams (S$80) each to enter!! Couldn't bring ourselves to pay that kind of money for things which are basically the same as the long-defunct Fantasy Island, and the only highlight was the 7-storey slide. In the end we sua-ed to Jumeirah Beach... The sea was so green and clear (but ultra salty) and sand was v clean n fine! The seabed was pretty high though - we ventured quite far out, which I seldom do so, and I could still have my feet on the sand. Nice weather, clear sea, clean sand, the Burj Al Arab was in sight.... My Heaven (beach).... had Yong Ji's Roast Goose which Tek brought back from Hong Kong for dinner... Yummm!!
Day 10 was all about the Desert Safari. Brought a few airsick bags that we goped from the airplane, just in case heh... Our guide drove us through the high sand dunes - up and down, up n down, not recommended for weak stomachs coz it was really bumpy! Ming turned quite green haha... Sand was reddish and fine and the whole landscape looked amazing, especially with the sunset which was right in sight. We were then brought to a campsite for a short camel ride and dinner and were entertained by a belly-dancer. Boy was it chilly at the desert at nite...
Finally visited Burj Al Arab aka The Sail, the only 7-star hotel in the world! Place was pretty majestic and security was very tight. Had to book our breakfast in advance, and the booking confirmation had to be checked by the guard at the gate. No phototaking in the restaurant... Our Continental breakfast wasn't really worth the price though, which btw was 220 dirhams (S$100) each... Most ex breakfast in my life! Served in individual portions, it was just normal stuff like bread, cocktail sandwiches, eggs, fruits, muesli, etc... The tea-set, cutlery and other misc items were quite exquisite and detailed.. To me its the experience that counts ba.. Ambience was great and service was good too.. Looks stressful to work there I think..
Had steamboat for dinner... too lazy to go anywhere else after the super full meal ha... 'Later' is gonna be quite a long day coz we are going to many places and most importantly, to celebrate the mark of Yours Truly's 26th year of existence!! Heh heh... =p

Day 8 in Dubai...
Today is super R&R day... stayed at home the whole day.
B drove us up to Abu Dhabi yesterday.. long drive, took around 3hrs... its supposed to be the capital of UAE, but it seems to me that Dubai is more capital-like though. We stopped at the Marina Mall, had our lunch cum tea at a cafe, walked around a bit then drive off again. Drove past Emirates Palace Hotel and to our pleasant surprise we could actually go in and take pictures. The place was so huge, royale and grand!!! V golden too... all the fittings, lightings and stuff were yellow-gold in colour. The garden area was v big too... could have explored more, if not for this irritating guard who came and shushed us in - "Kuikly kuikly" (Quickly quickly).. After that it was a near 4hrs drive back, coz of the jam. Btw, jams are so common in DXB and it can be real horrible... Then, all of us helped to cook with B as the Exec Chef at the helm and us as his assistants (I stir-fried 3 dishes!).. so nice and homely to cook together, then eat and talk at the table after that =)
This morning, we decided not to go anywhere after the long drives yesterday and also coz today is a weekend, so everywhere will be damn crowded n jammed - Friday is the weekend in DXB while Saturdays and Sundays are normal working days. Me, B and Ming went for a tan at the swimming pool at the roof top. Shir cooked us lunch, and then its dvd-ing all the way. Paused for dinner that B and Ming cooked, and then 3 of us are huddled in Tek's room watching some silly show. Tek is away on flight and Shir is going on one later - we basically entertain ourselves when they are away working.
Caught some fireworks just now!! 2nd Dec is UAE's National Day, so we can expect more fireworks these few days. Buildings here are all not very high except for those in the business district, so we can actually have a far view of it from our building.
Tmr we are going to Wild Wadi, which is a Fantasy Island-alike water theme park.
Back to the silly show now...

As-salam àlaykum from Dubai!!
As-salam àlaykum!!!!
Now is the ending of Day 6 already... so far so good, relak everyday, visiting places, etc. Actually wanted to blog from Day 1 onwards, but i'm either too tired or too lazy heh..
Super exec summary, my flight from SIN to DXB via Thai Airways was almost 12hrs, including transit time.. B, Shir and Tek were there to welcome us and we were whisked off to their apartment in our rented car. The place is nice, kindda condo-like and the whole place is air-conditioned. Oh btw, weather here is hot hot hot, but chilly at nite. 1st meal was steamboat at home, had it at 8+ DXB time, which is basically 12+ SIN time... machiam eating supper liao haha... Its v nice, warm n homely, with a huge spread of food. Went to Zinc (a club) after that... dun like it; music and crowd quite yucky.
Fell sick the next day...down with fever, so I practically slept throughout the day, while being taken cared of by the rest..
Got better the next day, so went jalan jalan again... Till today we've visited several big malls (n I mean real BIG), Dubai Museum, Hardrock Cafe, Irish Village, etc...B will drive and bring us around everyday, machiam he's a semi-PR of DXB ha...He cooks for us too... Its so nice to prepare and eat breakfast or any other meals together... Their Korean flatmate cooked dinner for us a few nights ago too... authentic Korean food.. Yummy! Things here are really expensive; had Lebanese food at a FOODCOURT and it cost me S$17...Grocery is ex too... only thing that is dirt cheap is their petrol of coz... Full tank cost S$20+ only!
Looking forward to visiting Jumeirah Beach - the sand and sea looks so damn nice and most of all, Burj Al Arab aka The Sail. Thats' all for now!!! Miss everyone at home and No.10 of coz hee... Till then, cya!!!

1st Bday Present of 2007!!
Xin bought me these for my Bday!!!

We met up at TM last nite... Initially I was told its just the 2 of us, and I didn't even realise the 2 other 'idiots' who were sua-ku-ing (e.g. "Wah here got StarHub!!") behind us haha.. Brushed them off as noisy kids in fact heh! Had our dinner @ Ajisen, where the Hokkaido Seafood Ramen was so damn yummy... Had a long-distant chat with Qiao too. Vin joined us much later and we proceeded to Mac for his dinner. Short but nice catch up with one another... esp for Muchacha, who got so many shocks in 1 nite haha =)
Thank Yous to...
Thank Yous to...

Crab Walk
...cont...
Walked to AMK Blk 232 for the famous crabs after No.10 finished his revision... I led the way with my photographic memory of where the place is situated... Not too bad, we didn't really holland-ed, just went an extra BIG round only haha!
Had to queue for a while before we were seated. Ordered the Claypot Crab Beehoon, Butter-milky Crabs, Kailan and Mantou... Was pre-empted that we might have to wait for 1.5hrs! Went ahead nonetheless, in the end we waited for about 45mins or so only. The Claypot Crab Beehoon was nice though the crab meat was kindda soggy I think... The Butter-milky Crab was good as well, though I very much prefer Defu Lane's.

I gobbled up everything, ate more than No.10 heh, feeling so '我是幸福的'... eating the crabs I mean... Major OPPS. =p
Then we walked back to AMK interchange... '是 nice 的'... =)

图书馆记
(standard studying gear)I'm @ AMK Community Library now...Haven't been to one in ages, a place where I normally wouldn't be caught dead in ha... I'm a 陪读书童 today, bumming around - reading, blogging, etc. while No.10 revises. Stormy weather outside, lots of students mugging (feeling is so 'been through, done that' ha) Looking at them, brought back so many memories... Those times where me, Xin n prob 1 or 2 others cramming at WhiteSands' Mac to study, when I was alone at Woodlands Library, etc... I will never be revising in my Uni though.. not to mention the library, which main purpose served to me was to print notes.. coz looking at the hardworking people burying their heads beneath books n notes juz makes me sick. Can't imagine how they can stay overnight there to study eeurrrgh!!!
Anywayz I found these pretty interesting books and this interesting quote:
