Xin & Guan's Glitzy Bliss

After a year of planning and preparations, Xin & Guan finally started a new chapter of their togetherness in a glitzy and loving splendour on 15 Sept 07.

Reported at Xin's place at 730am and the groom and his gang of brothers announced their arrival with the loud horn-ings of their cars (7 altogether) at around 815am for their tekan-ing session. They performed 3 tasks , which were relatively easy - just some banana breakfast, waxing and smooching of each other, and got through the 1st round... with the help of some gan-jiong relatives... For the 2nd round, the groom was supposed to sing... 1st was 小雨伞, followed by David Tao's 爱很简单. It was hilarious as the rest of the brothers didn't know the lyrics so they just caught on the last word of each phrase to harmonise haha...

The rest I shall not elaborate...Skip, skip, skip. Proceeded to and fro Guan's place after dat, then to 佛牙寺 (Fo Ya Shi) ... 1st time for any of us I think, to witness such different, customary and grand blessing ceremony for a wedding couple. The newly-renovated temple is majestic and have an almost regal ambience. We were ushered to a specially cordoned off area in the main hall for the blessing ceremony, which was carried out by 20 monks. Don't mean to be rude, but a few of us were struggling to mask our urge to burst out laughing when the head monk was sprinkling or rather splashing water at us - We were having water trickling down our faces! And I know Xin herself was 忍-ing too haha! But it was a great and meaningful ceremony, topped off with Xin's kua and Guan's suit which had an oriental touch.


Off to Ritz Carlton next. The suite was simply "wahhhhhhhhh......" !!! From the breathtaking view, the famous toilet, the nice bedroom, to the little details like the pair of wedding bears, the nice cake (?) on the table and everything else was marvellous! Had a briefing session with the hotel staff - 8 of them in all! Then all of us scuttered around to prepare for the dinner within 45 mins, using all the mirrors we could find in the room ha...



The gallery for the solemnisation and the ballroom were beautifully and romantically decorated with roses, candles and the expensive chandeliers. Skip, skip, skip. When the couple marched in, Xin was doing well until she saw me - that's when she almost cried! Didn't know I am so tear-inducing haha... quickly grabbed her hand and mouthed "不可以哭!" I almost teared myself too hee... Skip, skip, skip. It was nice to attend such a happy occasion together with the Irritants, especially when our 2 tables combined to form a huge group during the photo-taking session. =)

Very very very happy for you and I'm very honoured and glad to have joined you for your preparations here and there... All the most blessed wishes in the world for you and may you and Guan be blissful eternally. **Super Big Hugs, Be Here For You Always and I Love You - too!!** =p

Xin's Devilicious Hen (狠) Nite

5 more days to Xin's wedding!!!!

To kickstart the celebrations, we held a Hen Nite for Xin on 8th Sept. Had dinner @ My Secret Garden, a cozy and gr8 chill-out place with nice-desserts-but-not-so-nice-main courses. Bought a little toy (Got it quite some time ago when I chanced upon it) and a frantically-searched-b4-meeting-them-hair-band for Xin, to complete her character's costume dat nite (Sorrie gals, for not discussing it earlier as the emails seemed to have die-ded somehow n the rest of the idea was really impromptu). I like what Xin mentioned in her blog - "Di, being the devilette in nature, had the devil theme for the party...." hiak hiak.... 离题. =p

After dinner, we proceeded to MOS, but not before searching for the auntie who was selling Devil's Ears @ Clarke Quay. The whole group of us (7 gals) were Devil-Ear-ed after that, and you can imagine how attention grabbing we were when we passed through crowded (The) Cannery and at MOS itself. Hur hur! Unfortunately the bouncer wouldn't allow the Devil's fork through the gates.. coz he said its too sharp... duhh??? Super bummer!

We had several 狠-tasks for Xin to compete and she gamely accomplished all the tasks. E.g. drinking, dancing, etc. Bravo! Wondering how come they are so abstract? Heh heh...Xin, u better bribe me quick, or else i'm gonna spill it ALL out hahaha! Happened to meet another group of guys who are having a Stag Night as well and well, what can I say... All HELL broke loose haha! The guy was cute... hmmm... =X

The nite ended with a great note and it was totally devilicious...Oh yeah, we got kissed several times by Xin... there goes our 初女吻... Slurpz!

Final Whistle for Pesta Sukan Vball Competition 2007

Bunked over @ Xin's place on Sat nite then went to watch the Finals after our Mac breakfast on 2 Sept. The 1st match was 99.99% boring-ness. But the 2nd match, TnT vs rT was good! All players of TnT were v tall and their 架势 were kindda intimidating. Quite many power-spikers AND block well too. As for rT, the star-spiker was still as powerful, though she only 发挥 her prowress from the 2nd set onwards. The rest of the players were all quite 稳. TnT eventually won and got championized after playing 4 sets.

Next was the 3rd & 4th playoffs - SAFSA vs VA. It was a pretty close fight. Surprisingly M1k3 didn't really scream at his players, probably 3rd / 4th placing is nothing much for him? Ha... 1 of my 偶像 lost his cool though.. then delivered a damn power spike in rage. 棒! There was a women with him when he reached the court..should be his gf ba. I thought Mr Anything said, "她看起来很粗." 原来 he meant '猪'. Haha! 'Nuff said! =p Anywayz, VA got the 3rd placing after playing 4 sets.

Finale for the day was the 1st & 2nd playoffs - PSA vs IK of coz. Super intense and exciting, the 5 sets played were 绝对 score-for-score, lotsa power spikes here and there and not forgetting the trails of perspiration on the court left from their dives to 救球. We have our faves from each team as usual, namely Takashi (nickname given by Xin simply coz he's a Jap haha) and tanned and muscled No. 13 (though Xin doesn't like him topless. Hmm..??). Both are 杀给你死 spikers who can do very power 跳跃s as well. Oh a new 'hero' 诞生-ed too - No. 11 from PSA. His last finger on his left hand was dislocated (!!!) after a blocking-challenge with Takashi (See video below). Must be damn damn pain... his whole face turned white. After he bandaged his fingers and rested for a while, he re-stepped onto the court, amidst everyone's hearty cheers and claps. IK eventually 蝉联 as champions after a long and hard fight. 我们的屁股s 都痛死了...

Tis' the season to...杀给他死!!

Fierce caption hor haha... waited for 1 whole year and finally the Pesta Sukan Vball Competition is back!... n i missed a whole part of it. -_-" ARRRRGH!!!

Started on 1 Aug, and yet the 1st match I watched was only on YESTERDAY, 27 Aug coz I didn't know till WJ told me last week and the website was super outdated. Watched almost every match from the preliminaries to the finals with Ms Goh practically everyday for the past 3 seasons. Lucky thing is yesterday was the beginning of the semis, so theorectically speaking I'll be watching the better teams pitting or rather spiking against each other. Most of them are the same old teams, except for a few newly formed teams of veteran players from other teams or pure newbies. V interesting to see how they play 跳飞机, jumping from 1 team to the other. 'Eh, 他以前不是 A team 的吗?', 'Eeee 为什么他跳去做 B team 的 Libero?', etc etc... "杀给他死!!", "SWEE!!", "Woohoo!!", "Wasted", etc are some of our common lingo.

Just like 牛郎&织女, I got to see my 2 idols as well...can only see them on the court once a year mah... though Mr Anything say they are the 牛郎s but I'm the 色狼 hahaha! 1 is a 超级 spiker, the other is a 超级 setter. Asked Mr Anything to take pics for me heh heh...

Yesterday's matches were not bad... some new techniques here and there. My idols were superb as always. Then there's this kns guy who sat beside us after his game, doing push-ups with his legs on the bench and then doing crunches...and then repeated the routine again! What the hell... Mr Anything actually asked if I was turned on. Yucks!!!

Only matches on this Wed, Fri and Sunday (Finals) left... not gonna miss any liao!

7th Month Dinner at SGW and Bowling Tournament

The 7th month dinner was fun! Quite many people.. around 60 tables if I'm not wrong. Got 歌台 and MingZhu 姐妹 somemore.. but they kept promoting their 881 songs and their own cd haha. All thanks to VO, many of the uncles actually thought I am a good drinker and that I can down 1 bottle of red wine without any problem. Like real! All of them started coming and toasting to me, expecting me to down glasses after glasses of red wine. 坚决 refused to comply with all their toasts as I have the game the next day (this morning). In the end I still downed quite many glasses, then resorted to taking cover at where else, but the CEO's and other HQ colleagues' table to siam haha! Was found and commanded back after a while then drank again. Poor Ms Starz drank quite a lot, esp during my 'absence' heh. Food was so-so, can't expect much. Quite an experience, let's go again next year hee.. Went to Mum's place after that.

Reached OCC at 830am and as expected, the games only started at ard 10am. Was a bit blurry coz of the drinks and not enuff sleep. Mum prepared 洋参-cum-鸡精 for me. Tasted yucky, but 好幸福哦 hee... Played 6 games, performance not as jialat as I thought I would be. Heng ar.... Today not so bad, wasn't as gan jiong or jittery like the past few competitions. Fingers kindda frozen at the beginning though haha... 125, 132, 141, 159, 134 and 145. Ended near 2pm! In the end got 75th position out of 118, to me its bae pai liao but could be better of coz. Whether will get to stay in the team or not, I duno, nothing was mentioned.

Now gonna eat the hokkien mee from Beach Rd that Mum bought for me. 好幸福 again... hee! At Mum's place 就是不一样。Later gonna watch fireworks... cya!

Wats(been and going to be)up?

Things are finally slowing down a lil' at work after the crazy 2 months+... not that I have nothing to do already though. Lotsa backstage stuff to do, more collaterals and a big event next month. All 3 client luncheons completed - commited a damn stupid and regretful mistake during one of it, but overall was a huge success, SFF 圆满落幕. Damn drained...

Later in the evening I'm going to SGW for the 7th month dinner. 1st time attending such a co event, hope it'll be fun with all my kakis around this year.

Tomorrow morning we are gonna have a bowling tournament. My whole team has to participate and there'll be a screening process after that. Those who 'did not progress' will be asked to leave the team. How much 'progress' can you see when we are still at the basic-basics during training? I might well be one of them but nowadays i'm more 坦然 towards it le. Of coz i'll try my best tomorrow, but if I don't make the cut, I can only say I 技不如人. Rookie pitting against Lao Jiaos leh... Last training, we had to swing the ball 10 times before throwing it.. whole arm almost flew out with the ball after some time haha. Then we had to bowl 1 game with proper scoring (normally training no scores), anyone who didn't hit 150 or miss a spare must stand on the lane divider and hold the ending pose for 30 counts. Damn malu-icious but it was kindda fun n funny when everyone do it together or even wait for the other hoping he'll miss, then do it together haha.. i did it once... 2 more times near the end of the game i geh siao heh heh. Got 161 for that game. Hope tomorrow I can at least maintain...

Then fireworks tomorrow nite @ Marina Bay!! Bought tix at corporate price of $4 each, so me n a few friends are going to watch it at the platform. Company bought a whole block of seats, so many colleagues are watching it too.

That's all for now... my 3-hour lunch 是时候 end le heh heh... oh btw I met Xin to go collect her photos and we had lunch at the korean restaurant @ Heeren. Okok back to work.

Absolutely. 哈.

Been hanging out with them more than ever since Tek and Shir went abroad. Hanging out, late nights, la-teh, talking proper and nonsensical stuffs, sharing daily anecdotes, confiding with each other... can decipher Ming's miming and broken questions, understand in an instant what Law is thinking from his smile or look, chatter with Da and B, indepth topics with Bao, etc etc.

Takes time and efforts to cultivate and nurture. Totally comfy with one another, no guarding or walls necessary, best buddies = Simple. Nice. Happy. Heh. =p

Happy National Night!!

National day was fun... met Tek, Ming n Law for Rush Hour 3, grocery shopped @ NTUC for a while, then Tek left and the rest of us went to Da's place to watch NDP'07 together. Come to think of it, this was the 1st time we watched NDP (on tv) together. The last we ever watched it together was 12 years ago, during the NDP rehearsal @ the Padang I think.

• MacDonald's Meal - Check.
• Hoegardden - Check.
• Chivas and lotsa mixers - Check.
  
• Lots of nonsense and crazy laughter - Check. Check. Check.
  

It was super fun n somehow new yet heartwarming, to watch the NDP together, sing out-of-tune 爱国歌曲s, listening to the guys discussing abt the various weapons, units, vehicles, aircrafts and so on.

After the NDP, we played the silly mouth-n-finger game, pick-the-card game and 猜拳. For the mouth-n-finger game, we are supposed to call out a number but show a different number with our fingers at a fast speed - which Ming repeatedly failed to do so, and got the rest of us all flipped out with laughter... Loser gotta drink for all 3 games, and no need to guess who was the lousiest player and drinker haha!

This year's NDP was very good I think... with the new venue, show choreography, etc. Too bad we couldn't get the tix. Looking forward to the fireworks show next week!!!
