The Tidiest Desk in CG Goes To...

Me. Used to. Now...

This is the messiest and untidiest desk I've ever had in CG...Newspaper ads, quotations, drafts, letters, magazines, brochures, etc. Photo doesn't do justice, coz it's way messier in real-life. Irritated but no time (or can't be bothered at current bz period) to do filing, next load coming in real soon and I'm gonna be well buried.

职业病

1 sleepy morning while waiting for train, I was listlessly reading the wordings on the poster which features a starlet holding a beverage when something caught my eye: "... dazzlting everyday." Got me awake instantly ha... got such a word meh? Reach office, checked, no such word. God... wat a big cockup... Today, I was at the same station in the same sleepy (if not, sleepier) state again, and saw that they've revised the copy to 'dazzling'.

Such a mistake is really horrendous... somemore so many posters and so big too. In the A&P field, 'everyone makes mistake' is totally unacceptable. Every single word, grammar, spelling, phrasing, etc counts, since it is published to the whole world to see. Damn stressed when I have to proof-read all my ads, website content, advertorials and even internal emails... Gotta read over and over again and irritatingly some errors just like to hide up... Doesn't help when I have bosseS who can't seem to differentiate between commerce and commence, apologies and apologizes, former and formal, weird sentence phrasing, and many more. Get the idea? Of coz, I made a few boo boos before too.. e.g. For my email subject title which I sent to all colleagues, I forgot to delete 'For your approval pls'. My colleague actually replied me 'Approved.' (-_-)" Another one was when I sent an email to all colleagues again, this time I forgot to delete the rest of the corresponding messages between me & my boss... heng nothing fiery in it! And heng its all internal emails too... but I was embarrassed enough man...

So, it's become my habit to mentally scan through and edit the copy of anything that I see/read. Applies for conversations too... so... too bad if i caught you lah hee...

Lunch @ Peony Jade 14 May 08

Been to this restaurant @ Clarke Quay quite a few times already. Ambience is nice and food is yummy! They serve their self-brewed lager too... taste good, similar to my fave hoegaarden.

They have All You Can Eat A-La-Carte Buffet of 40 dishes... can have a one-time order of Shark's Fin, Scallop, Peking Duck, etc. Prices are quite reasonable too... though so far I haven't paid for any of my meals there yet heh heh!

Post Labour Blues

Sibei sian... no mood to work... Did not take leave today coz there was supposed to be an internal meeting at 930am ... WAS. Come to work then got informed its cancelled... Bloody Hell...

Had a mahjong session @ my place on Wed nite with Xin, Zns, Mr Anything, Qiang, ZY and Stv... ZY said he long time no play but in the end won the most... No more for you liao ZY... coz I'm a sore loser haha! =p

Had a lazy May Day... went to eat the not-so-nice-already wonton mee @ Selegie then Rochor you tiao and tao hway... then lazed all the way...

No.10 came to my office to pass me liang teh on Wed... coz I was too HOT; Had high fever, cold and cough. Prob due to my crazy feasting spree... but doc also said might be inflammation of my wound, so have to monitor... Y is my wisdom so much more troublesome?!! Anywayz here's a snapshot of my personalized liang teh:

JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge 23 April 2008

This is the 2nd time I participated in the run.. We had more runners this year - 60, as compared to the miserable 12 last year haha.. Our jersey same as a certain bank alamak... But nvm lah, our company names start with the same word, so same same haha... Sky was really gloomy before we began, heng it didn't rain at all. Same route, same human jam. My timing was 43.59 mins, faster by 1 min this year... not bad for someone who didn't train liao hee...

大开吃皆!!!!

Woah... been on a major feasting spree these 3 days... now can bite liao but still have to grind the food very gingerly... so very 'you4 xiu3' lately... so not me haha! Now I can understand how come people can go crazy as a result of starvation, though mine is a considered a milder case lah... hee.. Anyhowz, 七月came early for me this year =p

Officially began on Friday, had the famous cooked-using-charcoal pork porridge @ Tiong Bahru for breakfast, then mee goreng and the yummy indian rojak @ West Coast 530 hawker centre for lunch. In the evening, went to Fish & Co for dinner with No.10 and his frens... due to certain circumstances, let's just say we had A LOT of food... You named it, We had it; You don't name it, We also had it.

Saturday, woke up at 2pm, then had KFC for brunch... went to a restaurant @ PSA Building for dinner, then met up with Xin, Zns and Mr Anything @ Mr Bean... had a chocolate brownie with ice-cream... Adjourned to Rochor Tao Hway next, the you tiao was v nice! Had it with soya bean and tao hway as well... so nice to meet up with one another again after quite some time.. hope to see the rest soon too =)

Sunday, went to Beach Road with No.10 for lunch... ate the one-and-only char kway teow that Yours Truly approved (coz its so not oily and with boiled veg), hokkien mee and chilli noodles. Then No.10 brought me to Te@ Party along Bt Timah Road for scones... DAMN NICE!!! The place was pretty cozy and as the cafe's name suggests, it serves many diff types of tea, as well as pasta, pizza, etc. Really lurrrve the scones... got cranberry, blueberry, citrus, etc... I had the chocolate chip one... devour it along with the strawberry cream cheese... YUMS!!! Am craving for more already... slurpz! My weekend feasting spree ended with Mac's for dinner... still can afford for some more feasting for now hee =p

Good Riddance to Wisdom

Plucked out my wisdom tooth surgically last Monday coz it was getting unbearable... Colleague recommended this dental @ Kembangan and I was quite heng as I managed to grab a cancelled slot. All others I called could only give me an appointment the following night or so. Then again, the dentist asked if I wana do it that nite, I okay-ed it immediately, since appointments for surgeries would be at least 2 weeks later... might have died of pain then, so heck, might as well.

The dental initially said its gonna be a 2-minute job... put me on anesthetic for damn long while she finished up another patient.. so long that when she began, I was able to feel a bit of pain! Squeaked to her with my open mouth that it hurts, then she injected more anesthetic. The drilling and yanking that followed was so-you-wouldn't-wana-noe... gum was totally numbed but I could still feel the actions... In the end the 2-minute job became at least 30 minutes... Dentist said her arm ached when my stubborn tooth was finally extracted.

Yes, that's my gum-bits stucked on the tooth... The roots were not the usual 2-legged ones but a whole chunk... Really painful after the anesthetic worn off... couldn't even swallow saliva, gotta pui it out the whole nite. Could only drink milk (which I super hate), cold water and cold porridge using a straw. 痛苦.

Removed the stitch last nite, now not so pain already but can still feel the strain now n then, like when I sneeze, yawn or even bending down. I'm so so so so CRAVING for solid food!

Absoultely STARVING!!!! Dieting is definitely not gonna be in my vocabulary for some time...

P.S. I Love You

Finally caught this show over the weekend... Heartwrenchingly sweet and witty.

Exec Summary: Holly (Hilary Swank) was robbed of her loving husband, Gerry (Gerard Butler), due to a brain illness. Hibernating herself in their love nest in grief, she was only able to begin snapping out of it after she received a surprise voice-recording and cake from Gerry himself on her 30th birthday, and subsequent letters from him. Each letter was meticulously planned to the tiniest details, creatively written and sent, while encouraging her to get herself together and move on... before his death. Gerry even planned for a trip to beautiful Ireland for Holly and her 2 best friends... As the title suggests, all letters ended with P.S. I Love You... (Am not gonna tell you the rest of the story! Hiak hiak)

Holly was @ Ireland as planned by Gerry... She got another of his letter from his parents who were residing there. As she was reading it, Gerry was 'beside her', narrating the content and longing to be there physically with her...

A couple of surprises from the actors/actresses: Hilary Swank is prettier than I thought... love all her outfits in the show... Gerard Butler is HOT!! Now then I know he's actually King Leonidas in 300... **Sizzle sizzle**

The show's definitely worth my 2 hours of cranking my neck at the front row of the theatre. To have a husband who's so sweet, loving and 细心, not just till but even after his last breath is just so out-of-this-world... Maybe I'll get the novel... Catch it while you still can!! (",)

What is Your Most Embarrassing Moment?

Was just watching American Idol this week and all of them had to tell their most embarassing moments prior to their performances... Little did I know that I'll add one to my list the very next day...

Went for a jog on Friday evening. Had brought just 1 key (gates) out for my running convenience, and I left the lights of my house on on purpose. Came back after a while and saw my dad's cab downstairs and I was still thinking "Eh, how come he came back?" when I saw him coming out of the lift. Exchanged a few words briefly then I went up.

In the lift, I was thinking with his pattern, he'll sure switch off the lights.. then a nightmarish thought struck me. Once the lift opened, I ran to my unit and pulled the handle of my door. My fears came true - My dad locked the door and I have no key!!! Walau!!!! I looked downstairs immediately, in hope that he'll still be there but alas! So, I'm left stranded right outside my door but yet I couldn't enter ("So near yet so far" was just so terribly apt at that moment), no key, no money and no handphone!!! Completely helpless!!!! ARRGGHHH!!!!!

Well the next make-sense thing to do would be to borrow a phone from my neighbour but too bad, I don't really talk to the 2 other families beside me and they did not seem to be around anyway. Went to the void deck, still no one seemed to be around. SO, what I did, was to pop into the police post next block, in my still-red-from-running-face-plus-perspiration and full running gear. I hope I did not smell!! Pushed opened the door and Mr Friendly Policeman was like "Hi! How can I help you?" I sheepishly asked if I could borrow his phone. Next best thing? I can't remember my dad's hp no and had to call my brother to ask. As I repeated the number after my brother, Mr Friendly Policeman took a paper n pen to help me jot it down - It was then i realised he is a Chinese and understood all my near-hysterical conversation with my bro!! WALAU!!!

Called my dad after that, he already went past Aljunied. Asked him to come back ASAP, hung up, thanked Mr Friendly Policeman and flew out of that place. Waited for another 30 minutes before my dad reached...

Haizz... So long never blog, to think this would be my next entry... Nwayz, seems like I've already been building up 'the list' since young... like falling into the pool n scaring the hell out of my mum, rolling down the escalator, etc... Betcha didn't know huh... Heh.
