A Night as a VIP @ The Turf

Last Friday, we were invited to the VIP lounge @ the turf club as our friend's horse was in a race that night. It was my first time stepping into the turf club, not to mention the exclusive area where the line drawn between the 'high society' and 'commoners' was so damn bold and thick. Dress code was office attire. Had a buffet dinner (food was so-so only) there and watched races from the galleria. See the difference in the pictures below:

Placed a couple of bets (minimum $5) and I was very excited when my horseS were in the first few positions till they pong-jek at the end of the raceS.. all plural coz it happened twice. -_-" Then it was my fren's horse's turn next, so we went to the viewing gallery to watch the about-to-race-horses' parade. Basically they will walk in a circle where the punters watch, evaluate and bet. Difference was, we were right outside the stables while the punters were in designated seats.

Then when the race was about to begin, we were brought to a cordoned area to watch (we were on an elevated platform behind the crowd you see in the 2nd picture above).

Then the race begun.. though 'our' horse had a jerky start, it won!!! It was a really exciting and close fight; ultimately we won by a nose haha! We were all cheering and screaming with everyone else. We then went to the podium to take a picture with the horse and the jockey, and then later whisked to another private room for the champange popping ceremony. Damn cool huh!

Overall, it was really quite an experience, especially with the special privileges we had and the winning moments definitely.
